About the Stumptown Peak Mattress in a box
The Stumptown Peak features a channeled quilt layer with an organic cotton knit blend cover for increased airflow and breathability. 1” firm Talalay latex that creates a supportive “lifting” feeling. The 5-zoned nCompass pocket coil system, along with the gel lumbar support, offers a firmer feel in the center third of the mattress to provide better support in the areas our bodies sink in the most. This build increases the likelihood of backpain relief in most back and stomach sleepers.

Shipping for orders from within Oregon and Washington is 1-4 days, and 2-6 days for our friends outside the Pacific Northwest. If you experience any manufacturer defects within 10 years of your purchase, we will gladly replace your mattress.
Your mattress will expand within a few hours of being taken out of the box. It may look a little wonky at first, but it will begin to even out as it settles. We recommend letting your mattress expand and breathe for 6 hours before making your bed and sleeping on it. Visit us here for full unboxing instructions.
All Stumptown mattresses will work well on most traditional support systems including a foundation/box, a slatted wood platform bed or a metal platform bed. We do not recommend placing your mattress directly on the floor in cold, wet climates as it increases the risk for mold.

This mattress is consistent throughout and pretty solid. It’s bouncy, but that’s to be expected with springs. I bought it for our guest room that I’ve started sleeping in. I read numerous reviews about several brands and models before buying this one. I’ve got sciatica and spine issues that require firmer support. This mattress is firmer and doesn’t make my hips sore as a side sleeper. Unfortunately, it does lead me to wake up with back and shoulder pain that lasts through the day. I tried a 3 inch played topper, and that helps, but it’s not enough. This may be a good mattress for guests, just not for me.

The package arrived on the opposite corner of the USA - box worn - but to my surprise, no harm done to the mattress as the mattress was packed in a very thick strong protective plastic. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to get the mattress out of the packing as I'm only 5'2" and not very strong. But I got it up on the frame and as I began to unseal, unroll, and unpack the mattress as described in the instructions, the mattress started to expand. It expanded to the full dimensions, no problem. The mattress is wonderful! I haven't slept this well in a long time. This bed is so comfortable and just the right firmness!-- I feel like Goldilocks - every thing is "just right". Very grateful to everyone who helped get this mattress to me, everything that has gone into the mattress design. When I have need for another mattress, I will be looking to Stumptown again. ~ Thank you!

This mattress was delivered the day after I ordered it. It is very heavy (king size) so you’ll need at least 2 people to lift it. It was easy to unpack and did not have any smell when we opened it up. It was ready to sleep on shortly after. It is quite firm and the springs give great support. We chose this one to support a small business and preferred the materials they used.

I like firm and I like this mattress. A bit firm for side sleeping, but there is no perfect mattress. Natural latex is softer and a bit better for side sleeping. If you like firm, this is a good mattress. This review may be biased because I upgraded from a $10 air mattress that was wrecking my back and my sleep! :))
